[[RARE]] Mid 1960s EV Model 667A Mic and Isolation Cage. In excellent condition (for age of mic). Used very little these past years. Stored in case. Pop screens always used. Response curve is adjustable as is impedance. These and earlier generation EV 688's were the go-to mics for many Motown female vocalists (i.e. Aretha Franklin) as well as male radio DJs. No Trades. No shipping.
Note: Original condition except for Acoustifoam windscreen which had 'decomposed' and was removed. The EV 666 was the 1st generation of the Variable-D mics, then EV 688, and finally the Continously Variable 667A - with the added design enhancements: very low inducement to hum, isolation cage for boom mounting, and the ability to use in close proximity to lights, and AC lines.

Engineering data from ELECTRO-VOICE:
"An outstanding feature of the 667 A is the self-
contained computer-type programming board which
permits a total of six different frequency response
curves. The programming panel is part of a versa-
tile passive equalizer which is completely self-
contained: no external equipment or special con-
necting cables are required. The variations from
flat response thus made available permit the 667A
to overcome acoustical problems and background
noise, make possible special effects, and enable
its use mixed with existing microphones of differing
responses.
Use of Continuously Variable-D, a highly developed
version of the patented Electro-Voice Variable-DSl
principle, makes possible extremely uniform rejection
of unwanted background noise. "
