Purchased new in 2006 then used for a few years of gigs until it became my backup. It has a few rips and scuffs on the tolex but otherwise in good condition cosmetically. Includes original 2 button footswitch (reverb + tremelo).
Last serviced + new EL84 tubes in 2024 by Mike Sabolish (Los Gatos Guitars) and has stayed in the studio with minimal use since then.
Upgrades/Mods:
- Converted from 1x12 to 2x10. Fender style pine baffle, oxblood grille cloth, Eminence M10RR (C10n clone) 8ohm speakers (wired in SERIES for 16ohm load). I will include the original 1x12 baffle (no speaker) with Vox logo. I usually prefer 12" speakers but did a session where we plugged this amp into a 2x10 open cab and it sounded better. It's much better for gigs too with bigger sound spread.
- Upgraded reverb tank (Accutronics). The original verb was cheap sounding so my tech installed a larger Fender style tank and tweaked the circuit so that it sounds like a rich Deluxe reverb.
Also offering an Analogman Beano germanium Treble Boost (9v batter version, box+extras) for an EXTRA $220. This pedal is the 'secret sauce' with this amp that makes it sound like a classic Vox "Top Boost" (Rory Gallagher, Brian May, Jeff Beck, etc). I keep this pedal + short cable on top of the amp and never needed a pedal board. It's a perfect grab-and-go club amp.
