For Sale: Vintage Fender '62 reissue Stratocaster (made in Japan model #ST62-55 ‘E’ series) for $1,000 cash (price is firm) with local pickup Monterey area in a public place only. It was manufactured at the Fujigen factory around 1984 to 1986 based on the serial number and I purchased it in 1986 from a local dealer. Guitar is in excellent cosmetic condition overall and comes with a new Gator brand hard shell case. Has a 7.25 radius neck with 21 vintage style frets, vintage style tuners and a 5-way pickup selector switch with one tone control wired to the bridge pickup. Features a rosewood neck and basswood body and the original pickups (bridge and middle) were upgraded to DAllen Dovers (based on the tonal qualities of Eric Johnson's Strat pickups, see info link below). Bridge measures 6.85k and middle is 6.1k. The neck pickup is a custom wound model by Ken Currie of Rose pickups and measures 5.8k. Comes with a shielded Fender OEM mint colored guard, lightly aged Fender OEM knobs and pickup covers and tremolo bar. This guitar weighs about 8lbs. Also, upgraded the stock trem block to a steel one for better sustain. It has been professionally maintained over the years and only selling to help finance a new (and more expensive) guitar. This is a very nice Strat for the money and plays well. Due to possible spam and scams, please email with contact name and phone# for a reply. Thanks for looking.
