This Celtic design plate was created by Anne Bowyer for Nexus Design in a limited edition of 5,000 in the 1990s. This is 919/5,000 and signed "A. Bower" on the back. The design is from the Lindisfarne Gospels and is tan/orange and navy on white with a gold rim detail.
The plate honors St. Cuthbert who was renowned for his love of birds (yay bird nerds!). He was a saint of the early Northumbrian church in the Celtic tradition and associated with the monasteries of Melrose and Lindisfarne in North East England and the South East of Scotland
