Modena Estate Sales next Estate Sale Event is Happening and You are Invited!
This is a story about an estate than spans time.
In the beginning, Dr. Henry A. van Coenen Torchiana, Consul General of the Netherlands and a historical figure in Santa Cruz spent his summers here, then The Order of Adrian Domincan Sisters lived here, taking over a failing hospital, ultimately renaming it Domincan Hospital, serving in various roles until the property was sold to Dr. Mahaney (served two terms as Mayor of Santa Cruz in '76 & '79) and his wife Billie, RN., who had a wonderful life filled with community, raising a family, academics and traveling.
Throughout the decades, this house has been no stranger to bold colors and bright collections, creating a lavish ambiance perfect for showing off the generations of ongoing treasured collections. I find it hard to find the words to describe this sale (me, not having the words?). Superb, historical, local, interesting, antique, vintage, everything has a story to tell from multiple generations and by gone eras.
This Estate Sale is the Big Thing happening.
It's so big, we are making this a four (4) day event.
Be prepared to spend some time shopping as there's 3 stories to look through, including a detached garage and yard items.
