I am selling my beloved Marantz SA 8005 Super Audio CD player and DAC. I am the original buyer (from an authorized dealer). I have used the SA8005 almost exclusively as a DAC for my music - I have spun less that 10 CD's in the Marantz - meaning the transport is virtually unused and near brand new in condition. The whole condition of the unit is like new. A brief description of the sound profile as objectively as possible: the SA8005 utilizes a top of the line Cirrus Logic DAC chip and the implementation is world class. The sound is VERY detailed full of subtleties - and it is OPEN, wide, spacious. It is, however, in the tradition of Marantz house sound, warm, liquid and musical. By WARM I do not mean muddled and rolled off. I mean not harsh and analytical. Detailed, yet musical.
This machine is made in Japan and will compete with $5000 + DAC easily. You will not be disappointed. The Player/DAC will come in the original box .Original remote and power cable included.
