Meade LX200 ACF 8" telescope - $600 (scotts valley)

I'm selling this for someone else, so I tested it by leveling the mount, entering the time and place in the hand controller, aligning the scope using the 2-star alignment process, and did successful GOTO and tracking. Worked as well as my Celestron SCT.
I did further testing and found that the GPS and the "auto-alignment" process isn't working. I assume it's because it's an old firmware release, which you can update, according to Meade experts. But I cannot absolutely guarantee it so buy the scope if you're happy with manually entering your time and place, and using the standard 2-star alignment process.
Comes with an equatorial wedge and necessary bolts, but I only used it in Alt/Az mode. I have the pdf manual if you'd like me to send it to you and I can point you to where you can download updated firmware.
If you're new to astronomy, be advised that these GOTO scopes have a learning curve so IMO it's best for an advanced amateur, or someone who's tired of manually finding deep sky objects on their existing scope, or someone with a small aperture scope who wants to see more stuff. Comes with a 1.25" diagonal and 25mm eyepiece and the usual stuff like (external) power cord, optical finder, the original box, and hand controller. As you know, Meade is out of business which is why I'm discounting the price.
