2006 BMW M3, Carbon Black paint, Cinnamon interior, 6-speed manual, ~102K miles
This has been a wonderful car, and the best car I've owned and driven, but unfortunately I need to move on to something larger since I'm starting a family. I've had only minor issues and it has been solidly reliable over the last ~2.5 years I've owned it.
The good:
- Tasteful upgrades
- Most fun car I've had the privilege of owning and driving, it really is a blast
- It has been solidly reliable and never left me stranded
- Awesome exterior and interior color options
- Decently low mileage
Maintenance:
- 2 out of the "big 3" done: VANOS rebuilt before I bought the car, and subframe reinforcement done by TC Design in Campbell
- Rod bearings have not been replaced, but I had an oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs last year, and they found that metals in the sample were at or below average, so no issues there
- Other routine maintenance including minor services, replacement of components like mounts, bushings, pulleys, etc.
Known issues:
- Some worn interior parts
- Slight battery drain from the infotainment/radio - it seems likely some wiring replacement could fix it. But it has lasted me weeks without fully draining the battery, if I am leaving it longer than that I just remove fuse 41 temporarily
Overall this is a wonderful car, and I'm sad to see it go. I hope to find it a good home :)
