* Please forgive the technical difficulties; we can’t keep the lids on in rainy, windy weather conditions. We will keep bringing the bins back during dry days unless the wind is too fierce.
We still have plenty in the stove and microwave categories, are drying out non-food items and will be restocking soon. I’m adding some holiday related foods.
We are taking requests but expect a bit of a time lag. Also, does anyone need baby related items?*
Four bins divided into categories:
For people who have stoves (and perhaps microwave)
People who have a microwave
People who need ready to eat foods
Non-food essentials including feminine hygiene
I’m a former SNAP recipient and was also homeless years ago. With the funds I have I tried to be strategic. I made sure there was a variety of things to cook and necessary ingredients like shelf stable milk. I may branch out to bread making ingredients if requested.
Do any moms need formula?
Please do make suggestions for future purchases. I can restock monthly as my budget permits. The ready to eat category definitely needs suggestions because I’m a vegetarian. I don’t know what’s good in the realm of shelf stable meat.
It’s time I update my spices. If I buy in bulk, is everyone comfortable with me putting spices in ziplock bags? What spices or blends do you use? I cook Indian and Mexican food most often and some spices overlap. I did use ziplock bags for basmati rice, one cup each. Do people need salt? Hit me up! —TSM chalkboardlady62 outlook
