This is an W. C. Fields O.B.R whiskey decanter from 1976, released by W.C.Fields Enterprises. The decanter is porcelain and originally held 4/5ths of a quart, traditionally called a "fifth", of O.B.R. straight bourbon whiskey.. It is labeled as the first of a series but not individually numbered. This bust is TALL and HEAVY. Nearly 11" tall and 5" or 6" wide and deep. It is labeled both on the box and on the bottom as the first in a series. I don't see a single flaw in a visual inspection, however, there is some evidence of "product" leaking out and a few streaks down the right side of W.C's face. Since these are glazed, I assume it can be removed if done correctly. The decanter has been stored in its original box and other than the streaks, is clean. No COA. There is the sound of a small amount of "something" in the decanter; I'm not sure if I would drink it or NOT! ter sits. These decanters are 50 years old and the corks are all stuck in the base and will require "picking" out with a suitable tool like a dental pick, provided the decanter is to be reused. As a display piece only, this won't be a problem. The original alcohol tax sticker is still applied. These are neat detailed pieces; photos doesn't do it justice. I have several other decanters available. All are in Bonny Doon. Email me with questions or for an appointment to view.
