Offered up for sale is a very nice selection of rare mid-century San Francisco photography . My grandfather was a semi-professional photographer who shot various locations throughout San Francisco. When the Golden Gate International Exposition (San Francisco Worlds Fair) took place on Treasure Island he captured some beautiful photos. He had a wonderful knack for getting just the perfect lighting to frame his subjects. I am probably biased, but looking online I have not found any pictures to be superior to his. These are all approximately 17 x 21 frames and the photos themselves are about 8 x 10s.
As you probably know, Treasure Island was built for the Fair to celebrate the completion of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. It was a colossal undertaking and I am sure it was breathtaking. Some of the photos here capture:
• The Court of Pacifica
• The Court of Flowers
• Rainbow Fountain
• Japanese Gardens
I am looking to get $150 each for these rare and beautiful photos. Will cut a good deal if you purchase more than one. If you would like to set up an appointment to see them, give me a call at the number listed or e-mail me your contact number and I will get a hold of you.
Please….serious only! Thanks for looking.
p.s. sorry for the glare in my photos, the glass was reflective…
