Cetus P & H Kayak:
This is a low, sleek kayak which hides its size. The Cetus is a Swede form (wide point behind the cockpit) with marked taper and rocker towards the ends. As a result from the cockpit the sculpted foredeck seems narrower than other kayaks. This is a design which promotes speed through the water (despite allowing a broad beam for stability).
I think it was built ~2010. I’ve owned it for 10 years.
This model is equivalent to the MV (mid-volume); it was the original design Cetus, before they started coming out with LV, MV, HV Models’ (Low, Mid, High – Volume).
The simple reason I’m selling it is: I’m getting older and I want a lighter boat to manage getting it on and off the water. I just got a Stellar 18’ that weighs about 23 lbs. lighter than this Cetus.
It is my all time favorite boat, if you know Cetus, I don’t have to tell you why.
This is a rare boat, one of the best. Its got some cosmetic imperfections, otherwise it’s a beast. In great condition and performs as well as almost any Sea Kayak.
I have outfitted it to fit me, and has minicell foam that is easily modified and contourable to fit you.
If you are lucky enough to have a similar stature (5’6” , 150 lbs.), it’s a well-fitting cockpit.. if not, its totally adaptable with some shaping/adjustments.
I use this boat about 20 days a year, and just got back from the Mammoth Area Vacation on a 5 lake 6-day trip.
It has Minicell bulkhead foot bed, but if you want the footpegs, you can change back to them.
Includes “Immersion Research” Reggie’ ratcheting Backband support system. ($70. New)
I have a “Paddling Partner System” (no longer in business). It’s a ballast system installed in the day hatch area, that is easily removeable, as well, in about 10 seconds. Here’s an old ad for it:

I installed new raised deck perimeter reflective lines and bungee-lines about 5 years ago.
All hatches are in excellent condition; all replaced about 5 years ago.
Always stored inside/covered, with 303 UV protectant on hatches.
Full keel guard “KeelEazy” is in great condition, reinforced at rub point in stern. (
Retraction/deploy system for Skeg works great.
Silva Silva 70P Compass replaced this year (pd $112.) Could use a top-off of fluid, I see a bubble starting to form.
Includes brand new pair hip seat pad set.
Stockton.
