The Un-30 is a Made in Santa Cruz ULDB that evolved into a Wilderness 30. Same hull, different deck, rig, etc. She was a “kit boat” completed by her original owner.
Wildflower is essentially a scaled up Moore 24 with many of the same magical sailing characteristics (just bigger and much dryer).
We have owned Wildflower for nearly 30 years. We are her second owners and we are very attached to her, but we are reluctantly selling her due to age and health issues.
Recent work includes:
March 2021 Haul Out for bottom paint, topside buffing, and hand painted lettering redo by BSD (Santa Cruz Boatyard contractor). Needs haulout and bottom paint now according to the dive service.
2021 New mainsail cover
12/2020 Ullman (Santa Cruz) mainsail and 110% roller furling headsail that are still almost new
2020 Harken MkIV Code 0 Roller Furling System
2020 New headstay and lower shrouds
2020 New lifelines
2020 Newish Mercury 5hp - Sailpower Outboard (needs service now, currently not running due to sitting unused)
2016 New Upper shrouds and backstay.
All rigging work professionally done by The Rigging Shop in Santa Cruz.
Wildflower’s original owner/builder did not complete any plumbing work and we haven’t either since we just use her for day sailing. Head is a porta potty or bucket. Galley sink not plumbed, no tanks.
The electrical is minimal and could use some upgrading.
No instruments, just a compass. No through hulls.
Includes original DeWitt sails (main, #1, #2, #3), decent large #3 (North I think), and two spinnakers
Like most 40 year old Santa Cruz ULDB sailboats Wildflower is holding up very well, but is not without her share of little projects for her next owners.
Mast was tabernacled prior to new rigging for Santa Cruz North Harbor. Hardware included to easily convert back. (North Harbor in Santa Cruz has a much shorter wait list but you need to lower the mast to go under a bridge.)
No trailer
One year Santa Cruz lower harbor (O dock) slip sublet available.
