1987 Aries 32, this is the last hull number produced, full keeled, coastal cruiser, Hawaii and Mexico veteran, very capable, very sturdy and overbuilt. Designed by Thomas Gillmer, naval architect for the U.S. Navy and based on the famed Swedish Colin Archer design.
I am only the third owner and like the two previous have made many improvements over my time with her, please refer to the included spreadsheet in this ad for more detail.
She was custom ordered through Sausalito Yacht Sales in 1987, hull 38 of 38, the main differences originally ordered are the fuel tanks were increased from two 20 gal. To two 35 gal. tanks, the winches were changed to Barient self tailing winches, extra hawespipes were added, the electric windlass, Monitor windvane and the North Sails main sail has 3 reefing points rather than one (I'm sure its not the original main).
She is located in Moss Landing at one of the most desirable slips in the harbor, which is transferable and included with the sale. As you see (again detailed on the spreadsheet) many improvement were made by the second owner from 2011 – 2018, and finally myself adding a furling headsail and running all lines aft, other improvements including new canvas, etc. She is a joy to single hand,
I might add that this boat is fully equipped as she sits with most all of the cruising gear also included in the sale. Bring a truck, you'll need one to carry all of the included gear that is not presently aboard
I have a diver clean the bottom every 3 months, she will need bottom paint, last hauled out in 2021 for inspection, for serious inquiries I have pictures of that haul out which showed no blistering at all, a barrier coat was applied in 2011.
I had plans to finish my refit and sail off to see other parts of the world when my health took a turn and now that isnt possible. She is very comfortable and is also sea kindly which is why I bought her, which would make long passages very pleasant, also will handle weather well and is great for nice day sail as well.
I've included specs in way of a couple of original brochures and links for specs

Please respond with your name and phone number as I prefer to communicate by phone to make sure all inquiries are attended to. Please dont do the “Is it available” thing as I probably just wont respond to that, if the ad is up, then it is still available lowball offers will be ignored, not looking for trades right now, and no I dont need any help to sell her. Thanks for looking.
