A classic elegant cruising canoe, suitable for ponds, lakes, harbors and slow moving rivers. This boat was built with light and dark Cedar strips with mahogany hardwood gunwales. The 17 foot canoe is sheathed inside and out with 4 oz. fiber glass cloth and multiple coats of marine varnish. It has two ash hardwood cane seats and two cherry canoe paddles. This boat was designed by Nick Schade of Guillemot-Kayaks a recognized leader in the design and construction of strip planked canoes and kayaks. This canoe is a kit boat built by me, a builder of many small wooden boats and an alumni of the Wooden Boat School in Brooklin, Maine.
