Vintage 1940s Aluminum Travel Trunk with Blue Silk Lining
This unique antique trunk features a polished aluminum exterior and original blue silk lining. Lightweight for its time, these trunks were used for early air travel when metal was preferred over heavier wood.
Original silk lining in decent condition
Minor wear consistent with age (light scratches, dings)
Missing leather handle
Some rust on latches (untreated)
Still very sturdy and makes a beautiful statement as a coffee table, storage chest, or display piece. I’ve used it for game storage as decor and as a table.
