The sealing of the hose attachment disconnected a long time ago (see photo), but the circular wiring holds it on, so it works fine if you hold it together. I used it like this for years, no problems.
I'm including attachments, a couple bags and belts. The belt breaks roughly once a year, so be sure you're comfortable changing a vacuum belt (it's not too hard in my experience).
