For sale is a small accessory tool item that provides extra functionality to your standard router shaper. This is a Craftsman brand, model number 925179. Craftsman calls this a Multi-Purpose Router Guide Attachment Tool.
This attachment adds three functionalities to any standard router: 1) edge contour guide functionality, 2) laminate trimmer functionality, and 3) trammel point functionality.
How does this item work? First, you need a standard router to use this item. You remove the circular, plastic base plate that comes with your router. You then connect this item to the router base, where the base plate would normally reside. It's held in place to the router base using three standard mounting screws. With this new base plate attached to your router, you can add the three functionalities mentioned above, which would not be possible without this base.
My father purchased this tool at a Sears retail store in the 1960s or 1970s. I think he used this a few times. Given its limited usage, it's in excellent functional and cosmetic condition.
