For sale is a high-end custom-made workstation computer that was used on a research project that recently ended. The computer was built mainly for its computationally powerful AMD brand, Threadripper series, 3GHz, 32-core, 64-thread processor. This computer can also be the basis for a powerful gaming computer, especially if you add a more capable video card.
Besides the AMD brand Threadripper CPU, it also has an ASRock brand motherboard, 64GB of Corsair brand RAM, a 512GB SanDisk brand SSD for data storage, and an 1,000-watt Coolermaster brand power supply unit. It has built-in wired, wireless, and bluetooth networking. It also has built-in audio capabilities and lots of USB ports. The video card is an Gigabyte brand, GeForce GT 1030ATI model, which should suffice for most office and home requirements. The current video card installed is not intended for gaming. But you can always replace the existing video card for a more gaming oriented one.
Please note that this computer does NOT currently have an operating system installed. When used in the research project, it had a version of Linux installed, but that was removed. If you need, I would be happy to install fresh version of either Windows or a standard version of Linux. If it's Windows, you'll have to provide a valid activation code, as I don't have one to provide.
The computer is in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. There is nothing wrong with it. You can feel free to test the hardware before purchase to confirm that everything works.
This computer does NOT come with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or other accessories. You'll only get the tower case and a single electrical cable.
I may be able to add more storage, memory, and a more capable video card for an extra charge. Please feel free to inquire.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
