Hi everyone,
My girlfriend, our roommates, and I are looking for someone to take over our lease for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 910 sq. ft. unit at the Montclaire Apartments in Sunnyvale, top floor of the C building. It's a great location, with in-unit laundry (washer and dryer) + dishwasher, a great balcony under two beautiful trees, and very little street/neighbor noise.
The apartment complex is clean, quiet, with great landscaping. It has a pool and gym included.
The admin responded to service requests quickly (or so we've heard; we've never had any issues). There's street parking nearby and paid parking in a nearby parking lot for $35/month.
Other benefits:
- Grocery store (Lucky) is 2 minute walk away. You'll find a Starbucks, bagel shop, and barbershop next door.
- Downtown Sunnyvale (Murphy Ave) is 20 minute walk, 5 minute bike.
- Main public transport lines pass by right next to the apartment (Rapid 523, 21, etc.)
- Very close to Sunnyvale offices (accessible by public transport or bike): Meta, Amazon, Google
- 7 min bike to Caltrain stop.
- The apartment is cat and dog friendly. There is a deposit and monthly fee for them.
Total rent is $3,294 and lease ends on 4/10/2026. Utilities are $300-400 a month in our experience. This is the total price we pay each month over the last six months for the apartment.
We will transfer you the lease officially per the Montclaire's rules, so this is not a sublease.
We’ve really enjoyed our time at the Montclaire, but we’re ready for a change of pace and will be relocating to San Francisco. We are flexible with exact move in date.
Important Note:
The unit is not available for release easily. Since none of the original lease holders (me, my girlfriend, or the other couple living in the unit) want to stay in the unit past April, if you wanted to continue living here, you would have to reapply and move out of the apartment for 7 days at the end of the lease.

I've included recent pictures of the living room and one room in the unit. The other room is nearly the same, except the bathroom has a shower, not a tub.

Note that you can rent 1bedroom+1bathroom from the 2b2b if you'd like for $1650/month, or $1800-1850/month with all utilities included. The other room is occupied by two quiet, friendly, clean fiancées in their mid 20s (professionals). They are open to either moving out (someone rents the whole 2b2b) or staying (someone rents only 1b1b from the 2b2b).
