For sale is a Northwest Territory brand tent intended for outdoor use or camping. This is from their Vacation Home series, model number KMT111614.
This is one enormously large tent! The tent has a slightly rectangular shape, with an overall footprint measuring 16 feet wide and 14 feet deep! This is more than 200 square feet of space! This is about the size of an average living room in a residential home.
The tent is marketed by the manufacturer as a 10-person tent. But if you use the standard camping convention of an individual sleeping bag measuring about 2 feet wide and 6 feet long, then this tent can accommodate up to 16 people!
The tent is held up by several sets of metal support poles. Each of these poles is extremely robust, measuring about 0.75 inches in diameter. Some of these support poles intersect and connect to each other using extremely thick plastic connector brackets. The ceiling of the tent is constructed of three sets of these metal poles that run from the front to the back of the tent. These three sets of poles intersect with six additional sets of metal poles that run left to right (or right to left). Finally, there are six sets of poles that run from the ground to a height of about 5.5 feet tall. These vertical support poles hold the entire ceiling pole structure in place. After connecting all of the vertical and horizontal ceiling support poles in place, the tent skeleton structure measures more than 7.5 feet tall, 12 feet deep, and 10 feet wide. The polyester fabric of the tent is clipped into the ceiling support structure and the vertical support poles.
Due to the incredible height of the assembled support poles, this is one incredibly tall tent! The central portion of the tent is about 7.5 feet tall. The left and right sides taper downwards to about 5.5 feet in height. Most people can walk around the entire tent without bumping their head on most portions of the tent ceiling.
The tent is broken down into two (2) internal sections or rooms. There is the outer room, where the two tent entryways are located, and the inner room. These two internal rooms are physically separated by a polyester fabric wall that goes from the ceiling to the floor. It's not possible to remove this internal wall, as it's fixed in place.
The outer room measures about 16 feet wide and 7 feet deep. This space can accommodate up to 8 sleeping adults. This 8 person estimate is based on an average sleeping bag size of 2 feet wide and 6 feet long. Or you can use this outer room as an enclosed and covered porch, with plenty of space for a dining table and chairs.
Within this outer room, one tent entryway is located on the left side and the other tent entryway is located on the right side. In other words, there are two separate places to enter the tent from the outside. Each entryway measures about 4 feet wide and 5.5 feet tall. The large size of each entryway makes it easy to enter the tent. Most people won't need to crouch down much (or at all) to enter the tent. Both entryways have doors that can be zippered shut. Each door has a mesh window to allow light to enter. But each of these windows has a covering that can be zippered shut to keep light out.
This outer room has an enormous mesh-enclosed window that runs from the floor to the ceiling. This window covers nearly the entire front side of the tent. This large window floods the outer room with tons of light. But the window has a large covering that can be zippered shut to minimize light entering the outer room.
As mentioned above, the outer room and inner room are physically separated by a polyester fabric wall that goes from the ceiling to the floor. Once you are in the outer room, you can enter the inner room using two large inner entryways that are contained within the fabric wall. Each of these entryways is about 4 feet wide and 5.5 feet tall. Each entryway has a door that can be zippered shut.
The inner room measures about 16 feet wide and 7 feet deep, and is clearly intended as a space where people sleep. This space can accommodate up to 8 sleeping adults. This 8 person estimate is based on an average sleeping bag size of 2 feet wide and 6 feet long. The inner room has a mesh window on the left side and another one of the right side. Each window measures about 3 feet wide and 3 feet tall. Each window has a covering that can be zippered shut to minimize light entering.
This inner space can be further divided by another polyester fabric wall that runs from the ceiling to the floor, dividing this inner space in equal halves that are about 8 feet wide. This fabric divider merely clips into the ceiling and does not have to be installed.
The back of the inner room has an interesting feature, which was marketed as a "locker room". This "locker room" is actually an extension of the footprint of the tent that measures about 4 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 2 feet tall. You can use this extra space to store your backpacks or other camping gear. But this space can also be used as a sleeping space for your family dog(s).
To repeat, the tent is enormous, measuring about 16 feet wide, 14 feet deep, and 7.5 feet tall in the center. The tent is divided into equal-sized outer and inner rooms, with each room measuring about 16 feet wide and 7 feet deep. The inner room can be further divided into equal-sized sub-rooms, with each measuring about 8 feet wide and 7 feet deep. It's possible to fit 8 sleeping adults in the inner room with a dining table and chairs for the outer room. Or you can fit up to 16 sleeping adults into both rooms. And it has extra space just for your family pet(s) to sleep.
Nearly the entire top of the tent is constructed of mesh, to allow lots of light and air to enter the tent. But if you need rain or sunlight protection, the tent has a removable rain-fly that covers the entire top of the tent and portions of the vertical side walls.
The main tent and rain-fly top are constructed of 190 thread polyester (190T) with a 600mm waterproof rating. The bottom tarp is made of polyethylene. Most of the main tent poles are made of metal and plastic. A few of the tent poles are fiberglass and metal. There is a large carry bag that holds it all for storage. When full, the carry bag measures about 48" long, 14" deep, and 14" tall. The weight of everything is about 50 pounds. This is not a lightweight tent. The good news is that the carry bag has two wheels on the bottom to make moving it around easier.
This was used just a couple of times for car camping. Given its limited use, it's in excellent structural, functional, and cosmetic condition. Except for two elements (see below), nothing is broken, damaged, or misaligned. The zippers all open and close with ease. The poles are intact with no concerns. The fabric surfaces are intact with no tears or rips and there is no damage to any of the seams. The two exceptions are as follows:
One of the thick plastic connector brackets that intersect the ceiling poles broke in half. I immediately placed duct tape on it, and it seems to be back to normal.
And one of the internal metal shock-cords that keeps two of the support poles together when dis-assembled, seems to have detached. The good news is that this doesn't harm the structural integrity of the poles. The poles are completely intact. It's more of an inconvenience when storing the poles away.
You'll get almost everything that originally came with it when new, including the tent, rainfly, poles, room divider, and carry bag. Please note that the original ground spikes were fairly useless. Most got bent after just one use and were discarded. As a replacement for these original ground spikes, I purchased some high-quality Kelty Ridgeway brand ground spikes. I'll include these replacement spikes. Please note that this tent never came with an outer cardboard box, so I have none to give to you.
Before purchase, I would be happy to set it up outside. But you'll have to meet me at a local park for this, as my front yard is too small for this this large tent. Or if you're savvy enough with tent assembly, you can take it home in the carry bag.
By the way, this tent requires two adult to assembly. It's nearly impossible for one person to assembly this by themselves. It's important that you try to secure the rainfly to the top of the tent before you raise the tent. It's really challenging to install the rainfly after the tent has been fully assembled, due to the 7.5+ feet height of the tent.
The attached pictures in this ad are of the actual tent for sale.
YouTube also has two different videos that show this particular tent when fully assembled:

These YouTube videos are NOT mine. But my tent is identical.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, you'll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.
