ABEC Rating - The ABEC rating identifies the persion of the bearing. Higher ABC-ratedbearings (ABED 5) allow less movement of hte inner balls for a lower tolerance and greater speed. Lower ABEC rated bearings (ABEC 1)have a greater tolerance lolowing increased lateral movement.
Lubricant - Lubes protect the bearings from friction, corrosion and heat. Grease provides maximum protection from moisture and residue, and requires less maintenance. Oil allows greater free spin of the bearing for maximum speed.
Materials - The material a bearing is sumposed of not only affects perofrmance but also the lfe expectancy of the bearing. Virtually all quality precision bearings are made from stainless or chrome-alloy steels.
Internal Geometry - The internal geometry of the bearing lends itself to different types of skating.
