Our company is YourLegacyYourStory.com. We specialize in organizing and digitizing family memories and then helping our customers make books, family history websites and documentaries. We specialize in serving the upper income demographic and we are looking for a seasoned sales professional, especially somebody who can sell at the kitchen table and has above average organizational skills.

This is a part-time (15-18 hours per week), professional sales position, mostly evenings and weekends. This position is meant for supplemental income for the semi-retired, mature Grad Student or working professional who needs extra income. It is a permanent position and we are not able to fill temporary employment needs.

We closed our Bay Area office during the pandemic, so this requires working from your home and making and handling appointments at our customers' homes throughout the Northern California area.

Here is what the position entails:
1. You will do a minimum of two solid hours of calling warm leads per week, including both email and text follow-up on every call. Our historical experience has been that calling warm leads generates one appointment per hour of calling. These leads are provided to you, plus ones that you generate throughout the month.
2. You must make and attend a minimum of eight appointments per month. Currently, 85%+ of our appointments stick and the average commission per appointment is $603.30. The average appointment takes about 3 hours, including drive time. Our customers are mostly retired, so the schedule tends to be quite flexible.
3. You will maintain a working relationship with the management and sales staff at a minimum of 15 high end, retirement communities. You must visit each of them at least once every 60 days, dropping off candy or donuts and marketing material (which we pay for). If they have an annual open house event where you can meet the residents, you need to do that. You will ask the move-in coordinators and salespeople for referrals of new and existing residents that have a lot of media or interesting life stories. This will ensure a steady supply of customers and referrals. Also, these orders are usually well over average.
4. We sponsor and exhibit at six major public events each year. We will pre-approve and pay for these events and they will include or be similar to Northern California Home and Landscape Expo, Los Alto Art in the Park, Craneway Craft Fair, etc. You are responsible for booking, set-up, working and breakdown at the shows. You will almost always have an experienced booth partner from San Diego who will come up and work with you. Attendance at these events is mandatory.

In summary, we will need you to work 12-18 hours each week, with a flexible schedule designed and executed by you and your customers. We will train you in our company and industry, but you need to know how to sell and market before you come to us. In return, you should expect to earn about $4000-$5000 per month. This position can be employment or independent contracted and we will negotiate that with you based upon your needs.

To qualify, you must:
1) Be an experienced salesperson. In-home sales or sales to the high-income demographic is preferred.
2) Have an above average understanding of digital imaging, photography, video, computers, genealogy and/or tech.
3) Have a properly insured, medium size or larger vehicle for your appointments.
4) Be strong enough to safely carry 40 pound plastic bins of photos and albums.
5) Be completely reliable. Our employees and company show up and do as promised - always!
6) Operate with complete integrity in all of your business dealings. We have no space for a BS artist on our team.
7) Have a clean background with no criminal history and easy-to-reach job references.
