condition: good
make / manufacturer: Volkswagen
model name / number: Bug
Selling my all-original 1979 VW Bug Convertible.

Yellow exterior, light brown/beige interior. Original, numbers-matching Fuel Injection engine. 53k all-documented original miles!

Full engine-out service (new clutch, new pressure plate, new firewall, new alternator, all valves adjusted, new lines, etc.), all-new brakes and master cylinder, etc. as all documented by the extensive service docs (this major work was over $6,600 and you’ll see all the line items as detailed on the invoice).

All keys, all original booklets, full binder of service docs since day 1, even the original window sticker is there (which is quite exceptional to have in 2025).

Obviously a clean CA title, no stories! Bay Area, CA local car its entire life.

I’m the 2nd owner as I got it from the original owner about 3 years ago and brought the car back to its old glory. All it needs is a new black canvas soft top (all moving components and bow are in excellent condition, as well as the white interior headliner, it’s perfect - see pics).

Even the analog clock works flawlessly, as does the fuel injection engine, all brakes, transmission, suspension, steering, etc.

I had upgraded the audio to a modern one with bluetooth (original audio will be included in the sale), without cutting anything in the original dash/door panels. Gorgeous sound pairing your phone and enjoy the cabriolet experience.

Original blue CA plates. One of the very last ones produced in the Karmann factory in Osnabrück, Germany as the VIN sticker in the door states 01/80 - see pic. DMV tags valid till May 2025.

Thumbs up everywhere you drive it, even in Pebble Beach and Carmel-by-the-sea when I was parked next to million-dollar exotic cars!

Come see it, test it out, drive it, sit in it, lay under it to see for yourself how clean and rust-free the chassis is. These cars have already increased quite a bit in value over the recent years, and will continue to do so - one day, we’ll see 911 Carrera prices for all-original examples such as this cute one.

Starts up immediately every time I take her out for a spin…

Not expensive to insure, not expensive with yearly DMV registration as this is a 1979 car with a 1.6 liter 50HP engine.

Very practical car with the top down to carry some bulkier items, as you can see in one of the photos.

They certainly don’t make them so sturdy and solid anymore these days…

Thanks and see you soon!
