Why these cables and not something cheaper?
1) Don't invent a bicycle. These are the time proven design: practical and minimizing chain up mess.
2) You can install these when the car is already stuck in snow. Most others you can't!
3) One stop install because of simple and sturdy manual tensioning chain design. No 2nd stop to re-tighten chains.
4) Tightest clearance fit (Class S).
5) These last - no recent Chinese metallurgy experiments here.
6) These provide NOT just snow and ice traction. They also provide directional stability on ice and snow by design.
7) No ladder shaped snow chains $39 human drama of "no I couldn't drive up as car was moving only left and right and not forward. These are black ice uphill in blizzard performers - and they stop you when others keep on sliding.
If you don't see your tire size listed here, DO send me a message with your tire size. I might be able to find chains or cables for you.
These days a lot of knock-offs of these are made and imported from far East for chaep like $60. I can't tell you if they work as good as they look (and they look good as they look exactly like Konig), but they do come with warnings not to drive on pavement else links will break. CHP made me put these on so I'd go for miles on pavement in the rain- they did not break.
I've been going to Tahoe, Arnold(Bear Valley) and Yosemite for 2 decades- I got wisdom to share when it comes to the good old "chain up" routine. Years I've had ski pass I've seen a day or two when clear sky was forecasted and suddenly snow was dumping. These days CHP will ask you to chain up in the rain and then you got these days when all's nice and peachy and then you wake up to a foot of snow and your FWD won't move off the parking spot (I got these chains that you can put on a stuck ride).
The are snow cables which are class S (lowest clearance cables), so they fit ALL cars/trucks if the case.
Please confirm your tire size. Something like
P205/60R16; or simply 195/65-15
Please be sure to send me the tire size you read off of the sidewall of the tires of that ride you are taking to snow.
If you tell me what your ride is that helps too (some rides are better off with chains, or non-ladder shaped cables).
