For sale is a Manfrotto brand 3-Way Tripod Head. This is model number 056. Manfrotto calls this a "3-D Junior Pan/Tilt/Pivot Head". This is a professional-quality heavy-duty tripod head manufactured in Italy. Complete technical details are listed below.

Nearly the entire head is constructed of robust and sturdy aluminum alloy. Because of this, it has a load capacity of 11 pounds for heaviest of camera gear. But it only weighs about 1.2 pounds.

The bottom of this head connects to your tripod legs using a standard 3/8"-16 female screw mount inside a 60mm diameter base. The top of the head connects to your camera body using a standard male 1/4"-20 screw mount below a large, rubberized, non-slip platform that measures 2" long and 3" deep.

This is a 3-way head that allows for three (3) independent movements of your camera gear, including 1) pan, 2) tilt, and 3) pivot. It allows you to pan (or rotate) your camera gear up to 360 degrees around your tripod. It allows you to tilt your camera gear 180 degrees forward and 30 degrees backward. It also allows you to pivot your camera 180 degree left or right for portrait style photography. Each of these three movements operate independently of each other, and can be solidly locked into place, using three different lever type dials. Two of the movements (tilt and pivot) are adjusted using extendable arms. If you want to use this for panoramic shooting, it has a dedicated 360 degree angle scale.

Because the tripod has extendable arms for tilt and pivot, its overall footprint size can change based on how you're using it. When both arms are folded inwards for storage, its overall footprint is about 5" wide, 5" deep, and 3.5" tall. When both arms are extended outwards all the way, its maximum footprint can increase to up to 7.5" wide, 7.5" deep, 7" tall.

I purchased this last year from BH Photo intending to use it for panoramic landscape photography. But instead, I opted for a dedicated panoramic head. I never used this 3-way tripod head, even once. It's still in the original cardboard box. Since it was never used, it should be considered new.

Please note that you are only purchasing the tripod head. A set of tripod legs is NOT included. But almost any competent tripod legs will work.

You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
