For sale is a light exposure meter to precisely measure the intensity of light at a given location. This is also called a light meter or illuminometer. It's mainly intended to gauge exposure condition for still photos or videos.
Specifically, this is a General Electric (GE) brand, model number 8DW58Y4. This measures light intensity between 0 and 70 in foot candles. The device measures about 3.75" tall, 1.25" deep, and 2.25" wide. It weighs only about 6 ounces. It's mainly constructed of metal, but there is some plastic and glass panels, especially on the inside.
The top of the device has a small, hinged door that opens to reveal a mirror and pentaprism inside. Behind the pentaprism is a light-sensitive material that is what measures the light intensity. This device does NOT require any batteries or external electrical power to work. At the bottom of the device is a manual-operated circular-type calculator that helps you determine your suggested exposure based on the aperture of your lens.
The device is in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. It works as it should. Besides the light meter, you'll also get the original cardboard box and product manual.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, you'll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.
