For sale is a like-new extremely portable travel tripod mainly useful for still photography. One leg of the tripod can be removed and attached to the removable center column to create a monopod. It's a very versatile camera support device.
I purchased this unit at a photography store in Singapore late last year for some business-related photographs. It's an unbranded tripod, but it's physically and functionally identical to a Mefoto brand tripod. After my business meeting was over, the tripod was placed in storage in my house in San Jose. The unit is in like-new condition.
Complete details are listed below. A summary is provided here: This is a compact tripod, mainly constructed of aluminum alloy. The entire tripod can hold up to 20 pounds of camera gear. But it's still lightweight, weighing about 8 pounds. It has four (4) leg sections that extend with flip locks. It has a two (2) section center column, which can be slightly raised using a standard rotating lever.
Each of the three legs can be independently positioned and extended for great versatility in placement. Each leg has independently controlled lock stops at 30 degrees, 60 degrees, 88 degrees, and 180 degrees. When the legs are locked at 180 degrees, the tripod is in its collapsed form for storage and transport. When the legs are locked at 30 degrees, the tripod has the best balance between height and stability. When the legs are locked at 88 degrees, the tripod is at its lowest height, intended for near ground-level photography.
The attached ball head perfectly complements the legs. The head locks and unlocks using a very large lever for easy use. The ball head moves up to 30 degrees in any direction from upright. There is also a notch in the ball head to allow the entire head to pivot 90 degrees (left or right) for portrait-mode photography. The ball head connects to the legs using a standard 3/8" screw mount. It's possible to completely remove the head from the legs. At the top of the ball head is an Arca-compatible quick release (QR) bracket with rotating dial lock. Included is a small QR plate that connects to your camera gear using a standard 1/4"-20 female tripod head screw mount.
The tripod is 14" long when completely collapsed and folded for storage. For this collapsed position, all tripod legs are pivoted 180 degrees, where the feet rest near the ball head. When in use with the leg locks at 88 degrees, its minimum height is just 14". With the center column completely down and the legs at 30 degrees, its maximum height is 48". With the center column completely extended and the legs at 30 degrees, its maximum height is 54". The tripod feet are terminated with rubber feet.
As mentioned above, you can remove one of the legs from the base and connect it to the removable center column to create a monopod. When fully extended for use, the monopod is 54" tall.
As mentioned above, the tripod was used only once to take photos of a business meeting. Given its limited use, it's in like-new condition. There is nothing wrong with it. Besides the tripod, you'll also get a small travel bag that fits the tripod perfectly.
