"Over the last few years I have seen firsthand how savvy and professional Bonnie is with handling dogs, cats, and even rabbits as an animal rescue and shelter volunteer, and pet owner. She knows how to become friends with very shy dogs by patiently taking her time to allow them to approach her, encourage them with soft talk and treats, and wait for them to come around and become her friend. Bonnie has displayed the ability to correct larger energetic dogs that pull too much on their leashes and jump up on her by utilizing positive reinforcement techniques and training. She enjoys throwing toys and playing with the young pups to tire them out, as well as hanging out in the shade with a more mellow or older dog on her lap enjoying her attention and relaxing to the point that they fall asleep. Her own personal dog, Sammy, and handsome cat, Buddy, were both rescued from shelters after she adopted them, and each of them have regular vet visits for maintenance/vaccinations to ensure they remain in good health. Bonnie has paid for dental care for her pets as well, something that doesn't cross a lot of other pet owners' minds. She has a lot of experience with providing education and public outreach regarding local animal shelters and resources, and never hesitates to obtain more information if something animal-related comes her way that she's not familiar. Her love and concern for all animals, especially canines, is demonstrated by her personal interactions with them and their reciprocated love for her." --Lisa K.
"I have known Bonnie Silva for over six years and volunteer with her at Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA). She is great with the animals she socializes. Her calm demeanor helps put the animals at ease. Her own dog was adopted from SVACA and she is a great pet parent.I would recommend Bonnie as a dog caregiver, because she truly does care for animals." --Eva S.To read more of reviews, go to http://searchdogsitters.com/sit/bonnies9/c
