compensation:Pay Range: $25.00–$32.00 per hour. Starting pay will be determined based on relevant construction purchasing experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
Seeking a driven, detail-oriented Construction Purchasing Agent to join our team. This position requires strong purchasing, computer, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities:
• Purchase and coordinate construction materials, equipment, and supplies
• Request and compare vendor quotes to obtain competitive pricing
• Negotiate pricing, availability, and delivery terms with vendors
• Prepare, process, and track purchase orders
• Verify material invoices against approved purchase orders
• Review pricing, quantities, credits, returns, and applicable adjustments
• Request and track vendor credits and corrected invoices
• Work closely with Accounting to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors, project managers, field personnel, and Accounting
• Confirm order accuracy, delivery schedules, and jobsite requirements
• Maintain accurate purchasing, invoice, credit, and vendor records
• Monitor outstanding orders and follow up to prevent project delays
• Support multiple projects while managing changing deadlines and priorities
Qualifications:
• Previous purchasing experience required; construction purchasing experience strongly preferred
• Experience reviewing material invoices and resolving billing discrepancies
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other office programs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization, follow-through, and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable negotiating with vendors and comparing pricing
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Self-motivated, dependable, and driven to complete tasks
• Able to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Construction management software experience is a plus
