Offering a unique opportunity to own a c.1947 Model A "Flatback" CF Martin & Co museum quality mandolin in mint state from my family collection. This special flatback model does in fact have the beautiful Spruce and Mahogany construction.
This instrument is as close to brand new as you will ever find, and is absolutely complete from the time of purchase. It comes with the original hard case, original strings (new CF Martin strings currently on it), original purchase paperwork and a soft embroidered monogrammed CF Martin soft case which I purchased fairly recently.
Additional information will be given to the buyer, to detail the minimal use the instrument has had.
Below is additional information using Google AI, which might help explain the value of these fine instruments:

Market Value: Some 1940s Martin Model A instruments are valued in the $1,500–$2,000+ range, often prized for their high-quality mahogany/spruce construction."
The CF Martin Company was founded in 1833 and makes high quality musical instruments. In 1949, the purchase price was equal to a monthly mortgage payment on a new home (at the time). I have the paperwork of the sale to my grandfather.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions. Be aware that no low ball offers will be entertained. To be honest I need not sell it. However it makes sense to find a new loving owner/home and someone who will play and enjoy it for years to come is my goal. It has been in our family since it left CF Martin Company in 1947.
