Late one Monday night/early Tuesday I didn't realize that Juice followed the dog and me outside to the fenced-in yard. I went to bed and didn't notice until 7 am on Tuesday that she was gone. For two days, I walked blocks and called her. I did all the things advised (posted flyers, called vets and shelters, put out litter box and food, talked to neighbors and looked in bushes) during my search.
Wednesday at 10 pm, after spending another hour walking around, I sat on the sidewalk by my front door talking with a friend on my cellphone. I felt something brushing my back and before I even saw her, I knew it was my Juice. She didn't meow. I opened the front door and she walked in. She was hungry but completely clean/uninjured. She had to have been hiding in a nearby yard, one of the homes near my apartment.
They gave me insight on what to expect when an indoor-only cat goes missing. I thought she would be running around the neighborhood scared. I kept reading that she was most likely nearby, hidden and quiet. I was so scared that I would never know what happened to her. I would recommend them because there were so much support and info to keep hope. The juice was only gone for 45 hours, but it felt much longer.
