We are looking for a CDL Class A Truck Driver to operate our dump trucks/seal coat trucks and assist the crew on jobsites under foreman’s direction.
Who are we? Calvac, Inc provides services to residential, commercial and industrial properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our office/yard is in Central San Jose, and we have a wonderful, hardworking and friendly team.
Main responsibilities:
• Safely load and unload all equipment/materials over all terrains, and properly secure loads.
• Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes: handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speed to road conditions and the ability to drive daytime or nighttime.
• Maintain constant contact with Foreman to receive pickup and/or delivery instructions and keep them informed of any safety issues.
• Must assist labor crew as directed by foreman when not operating a vehicle
• Perform Pre/Post Trip inspections and correctly complete driver’s logbook. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water to ensure road worthiness.
• Keep equipment clean and presentable
• Maintain all paperwork. Verify paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
• Must be able to perform all the job functions in a safe manner in order to avoid personal injury and equipment damage.
Qualifications:
• Must have a current and valid Commercial Driver’s License for the State of California & Medical Examiners Certificate
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Ability to pass drug test and background check
• Must have knowledge and conduct maintenance of single and multi-rear axle trucks meeting the requirement for California Commercial Driver’s Licensing to include general knowledge of laws and regulations.
• Spanish speaking is desirable but not required
Physical Requirements:
• Able to work outside under hot/cold weather conditions
• Able to drive up to 8/10 hours daily
• Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Full Time with the opportunity for OT/DT
