Vintage Handwoven Portuguese Floral Needlepoint Home Decoration Rug 120” x 170”.
I received some history on this rug. This is a Portuguese needlepoint (very rare: now all of the needlepoint rugs come from China) The lady that sent me the history says she has the exact same rug paid $10,000 for it -- and that was the wholesale price over 30 years ago. She choose this rug because she saw it in a photo of a room decorated by Mario Buatta that was in (AD) Architectural Digest Magazine May 1983. In great condition on both sides. Recently professionally cleaned. It has two spots that would not come out as shown in the last two photo's (hardly noticeable), I would rate this rug as 95% out of 100% perfect. It needs a new home that will appreciate the vintage era, time and efforts it takes to make needlepoint.
First two photo are from Architectural Digest Magazine May 1983. Next three photo's are photo's from the lady that gave me the history about this rug and has it used in her Livingroom and next 8 Photo's are of the actual rug you will receive. Photo's 9-13 are of the underside of he rug. Photo 8 shows a close up of actual vibrant colors in the rug .
