I currently have two shell ginger plants for sale. These are the butterscotch variegated variety. They have been established in containers for about two years. I'm asking $15 for the smaller and $30 for the larger plant. The large one will most likely flower this year. They require very little water - very low maintenance!
While the root is too bitter to eat, the leaves are great for wrapping meat or fish and the dried fruits are a special spice in some Asian dishes, such as hot pot. Morning sun with afternoon shade is best for this plant, or partial sun throughout the day.
A truly beautiful tropical-looking plant which does well in our climate. This is my third year growing them.
