Rudolph Carl Gorman (1931-2005) was a Navajo Indian artist who helped bring Native American culture and history into the mainstream of American art.
Drawing on desert rocks from the time he was 5, Gorman became one of the most well known and recognized painters of the Southwest. His stone lithographs, containing rich color and crisp lines, remain some of the highest quality prints ever produced.
