For sale is a genuine teak wood coffee table that is generally used in a living room and placed in front of a sofa. But it can also be used in other settings and for other purposes.
This table was handmade by Denka Mobler / Mobelfabrik in Denmark. It is from the Scandinavian mid-century-modern (MCM) genre of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
The overall size of the table is 51.75" wide, 28" deep, and 16.5" tall. This is an extremely large table for an extremely large room. It is constructed of a top teak wood platform, which has an insert for the glass, which fits perfectly on recessed groves on the top. At the bottom are four teak wood legs permanently fixed to the top wooden platform.
All teak wood pieces are solid through and through, and not just teak veneer over MDF. The wooden pieces on the top platform and the legs are solid wood beams that are 2.5" wide and 2.5" deep. The removable clear glass insert on the tabletop measures 48" wide and 24" deep. The reinforced and tempered glass measures 0.25" in height. The entire table is extremely sturdy, but it only weighs about 30 pounds!
The table is in excellent condition. Structurally, it's in incredibly robust condition, with no wood bending, warping, or fatigue. The legs attach to the tabletop with incredible sturdiness. The glass insert is perfectly intact with no major scratches, chips, or smudges.
Cosmetically, everything is also in excellent condition, especially considering it's several decades old. There are some extremely tiny scratches on some teak surfaces from normal wear. There is also some very small lacquer loss on some wood surfaces. But these cosmetic issues don't affect the structural integrity of the table. And these cosmetic issues don't significantly detract from the beauty of the teak grain.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. This is rather large, so I am not confident that it will fit into a standard sized passenger car. An SUV or truck will likely work best for transport.
