For sale is a genuine teak wood table that is generally used in a home entryway, in a living room, or dining room. But it can also be used in other settings and for other purposes. It's usually called an entryway table, sofa table, or console table.
This table was handmade by Denka Mobler / Mobelfabrik in Denmark. It is from the Scandinavian mid-century-modern (MCM) genre of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
The overall size of the table is 51" wide, 16" deep, and 26" tall. It is constructed of a top teak wood platform, which has an insert for the glass, which fits perfectly on recessed groves on the top. At the bottom are four teak wood legs permanently fixed to the top wooden platform.
All teak wood pieces are solid through and through, and not just teak veneer over MDF. The wooden pieces on the top platform and the legs are solid wood beams that are 2.5" wide and 2.5" deep. The removable clear glass insert on the tabletop measures 48" wide and 12.5" deep. The reinforced and tempered glass measures 0.25" in height. The entire table is extremely sturdy, but it only weighs about 20 pounds!
The table is in excellent condition. Structurally, it's in incredibly robust condition, with no wood bending, warping, or fatigue. The legs attach to the tabletop with incredible sturdiness.
Cosmetically, everything is also in excellent condition, especially considering it's several decades old. There are some extremely tiny scratches on some teak surfaces from normal wear. But these cosmetic issues don't affect the structural integrity of the table. And these cosmetic issues don't significantly detract from the beauty of the teak grain.
But there is one important thing to note about the condition of the table. While the removable top glass insert is intact with no major surface scratches or smudges, there are two small chips in the glass at the corners. Please see Pictures 22 and 23 for closeups. The chips are about 1 inch in size. The good news is that since these chips are in the corner, they are somewhat hidden from view when place on the tabletop, with the chipped-side in the down position.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. You can probably fit this into a standard sized passenger car. But an SUV or truck will likely work better for transport.
