I made this 30 years ago. I think it was pretty clever but I no longer use it. The top tray can be used to keep, for example, a small audio mixer. The top cover slides out the front or back. The carrying handle is offset toward the front so the weight is somewhat balanced when gear is bolted to the rack rails which are of course in the front. You'll also get the rack shelf shown in the photos. The whole assembly weighs 19 lb. It is made of 1/2 inch plywood and has four round plastic feet on the bottom. It is pretty beat up, needs some patching and paint. You can also have the unbalanced audio patch cables shown in the last photo if you want them.
