It has come time for my father and I to sell our much-loved 1992 Miata. It has the rare combination of manual (unassisted) steering and air conditioning. I bought the car around 2008 and drove it for a few years before passing it on to my dad to use as his around-town car. He is now 81 and none of his friends can get into or out of the car! We found a manual-transmission sport wagon for him to switch to and sadly he doesn't have space in the garage for both cars.

When I owned the car, I added the factory hard top, free-flow header and exhaust from Racing Beat, wheels from a second-generation Miata, and lower springs from Flying Miata with appropriate shocks. All of the exhaust modifications are CARB-legal and the car just passed smog with no difficulty. All servicing was done by Rick of PR Motorsports in Hayward when I had the car, and subsequently by Barry Hartzel of Hartzel Automotive in Sand City since my dad took possession - two of the most knowledgeable Miata specialists in the area. Add a roll cage and upgrade the sway bars and you have a perfect drive-to-the-track car, or you can easily return the car to stock configuration. The soft top needs to be replaced but it can be used it to keep sun off and dust and dirt out of the cabin when parked if you remove the hard top.

151,000 original miles. The car was just serviced, smogged, and has no issues - engine starts right up, clutch and shifting are flawless. The paint on the metal panels is original except for the trunk lid, and the hard top and composite bumpers have been re-painted to match. The interior is slightly sun-faded but otherwise near-perfect. The manual steering is wonderfully communicative, and it along with the slightly stiffer suspension and enhanced exhaust note make the experience very similar to driving an old Triumph or MG, except that it starts every time, never overheats, and has modern seatbelts and an airbag. Basically the best of all worlds.

I believe I have the car priced appropriately at $9900. The hard tops alone are going for $2000 - $2500 these days and cars with fewer miles than this one are starting to list for over $10,000.

The car is located on the Monterey Peninsula, CA, 93950. Email me with any questions and I'll be happy to answer what I can.

Thanks for reading!
Daniel
