Looking for a camera operator (for video) who wants to be part of real sports experiences, not staged product shots.
You’ll be behind the lens following one person through baseball-centric adventures. Think baseball training in facilities, following the subject (Me) while I'm interacting with players, and capturing movement in real time.
This is mostly weekends only and perfect for someone who wants fun experience-based baseball shoots and to grow with a brand early. I'll be doing these shoots almost every weekend so this is a great opportunity for consistent income on the weekends.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO:
• Track the main subject through active environments
• Stay mobile. Handheld vibes, smooth motion, staying focused on the moment and the primary subject
• React creatively to whatever unfolds
• Understand energy and play into the action with your camera work and who you capture when things unfold naturally
• Light gear setup and breakdown
WHO YOU PROBABLY ARE:
• You like being IN the action. NOT stuck behind a tripod.
• You can fluidly track a subject who’s moving fast/on the go
• You understand pacing in camera work
• You’re comfortable filming in public places
• You enjoy sports and outdoor energy
• You can reliably commute throughout the Bay Area
• You can be on your feet and moving around for a few hours at a time without any issues
• Occasional flight travel and joining along on trips for out-of-state shoots
• Someone who wants to grow within a brand instead of doing one-off shoots
SCHEDULE & PAY:
• Mostly Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
• 2 - 5 hour sessions per shoot
• $25/hr to start. Room to grow with the brand if it clicks
HOW TO APPLY:
Reply with:
• Your name, age, and where you’re based
• Any experience with handheld/motion-tracking shooting alongside the subject (not tripod-tracking)
• Your general weekend availability
• Links to any relevant work that is similar to a "vlog" type style shooting (doesn’t have to be baseball, but sports would be great)
If you read this and thought “this sounds sick” instead of “ugh... work,” then you’re exactly who I’m looking for!
