These iconic shoes were designed by the renowned shoemaker Salvatore Deodato as part of his 1972 collection. They feature the signature see-through hole platform design, created in collaboration with the heel manufacturer VALE from Sant'Elpidio a Mare.
Originally thought to be lost to time, this model is now preserved in four different European museums. It was also showcased in a 1977 British Pathé film and more recently appeared in Selfridges' feature on "The 1970s Trend" in April 2015.
These vintage platform shoes from the 70s and 80s are truly unique, boasting a square, ultra-high block heel that adds a touch of retro charm to any outfit. The classic black and white color scheme combined with leather lining gives them an edgy yet timeless appeal, while the closure straps elegantly wrap around your ankle.
The shoe size is either a 5 or 5½, with an inside foot measurement of 9 inches in length and 2 inches in width. The heel height measures 5¾ inches, and the platform height is 3 inches.
