I have a 1400 and 2500 pound sailboat. I bought a number (6) of two stroke motors to try to understand the practical speeds and tradeoffs between HP and weight. They are in great condition. They start right up: can't have a motor that leaves you stranded when there is no wind. Used them for last 2 years. Have too many outboards. They are long shafts. Run well, no issues. Just professionally serviced (impeller, oil, carb cleaned, new spark plugs = $350). Light weight for the horsepower = important for a racing sailboat. Used to push my 24+27 foot sailboats. They are run for around 90 minutes to transit to the starting location. Then back if there is no wind, at the end of the day. Stored in my garage. There is a 2.5 HP propane ($500), and 2 Johnsons, 1 Mercury: 5HP ($550), Johnson 6HP ($650). Check with me for questions. All have recently been fully professionally serviced. I will keep whatever is not purchased. You can see them in San Jose or Alameda (weekends).
