The pump comes with an ABS flexible hose that is stored inside the aluminum body of the pump. The hose is Presta and Schrader valve-compatible. To use the pump, unscrew the flexible hose from one end of the pump body, then screw either side of the hose to the other end of the pump, then pump away. When done, screw the hose back inside the pump body, then push the rubber tabs to either end of the pump to keep everything tidy.
The pump was meant to be used for on-the-road emergency tire repairs. The pump still looks and is like new. No breakage, no squeaking, no broken parts, no missing rubber, no scratches. Stored in a pouch when riding; and indoors when not.
