Wheels By Fleming of San Jose, California is a provider of basic and replacement alloy bicycle wheels. The proprietor, Robert Shackelford, a.k.a., Fleming, a.k.a. MrRabbit, also does custom builds.

As a wheel builder, I have 10,000+ wheel builds under my belt since 1984 - all hand built at 1.25 to 2.00 hours build time.

For in-house wheels, all parts are Taiwan sourced - rims, hubs, spokes and nipples.

All wheels are properly dished, tensioned and trued to +/- .002 to +/- .004 inch and stress relieved. All wheels are not considered done until AFTER a stress relief cycle they continue to be dished, stay in the targeted tension ballpark and remain true. Hub cones are locked with the minimal preload necessary.

My in-house basic and replacement alloy bicycle wheels are expected to last 3+ years or 40,000 miles of everyday use barring any "accidents". I keep a hand full of spare freehubs for rear cassette hub equipped wheels in case of freehub failure within three years.

For custom builds, it is typical for the customer to provide their own hubs and rims. Usually they are directed to other sites to acquire the recommended spokes for their builds - most often DT Swiss from Amazon.com. I take care of the necessary measurements and spoke length calculations as part of the build. Turn-around for custom builds is typically 5-7 days upon receipt of all necessary parts.

I also offer 14g (2.00mm) spoke cutting and threading services using a Kowa Spoke Cutter for zinc steel, UCP, stainless steel and titanium spokes. Customers are advised to always bring more than is needed as spoke cutters do have accidents.

I also have a very large quantity of basic QR type hardened chromoly axles, cones, locknuts, spacers and ball bearings as SETS and PARTS at extremely low prices as compared to what is sold at shops and online:
