ITEM LOCATED IN SAN JOSE. This is a large hard to find wooden Chinese sculpture of Avalokiteśvara (also known as Kwan Yin, Guanyin, Bodhisattva of Compassion), a form of Buddha seated on a lion. It had been painted and had gilt, but they have started fading because of age. It many be possible to re-paint it to get back to its past glory. Overall, dimensions of the sculpture are 55" tall, 37" wide, 20" deep and weigh about 130 lb. On the left hand the thumb and index finger are missing. They are not visible when looked at from the front because the left hand is curled inward. One may be able to restore it with some effort. Asking $4000 (Or make offer).
