Tobacco leaf porcelain originated from Qing Dynasty (Yong Zheng period 1722 - 1735) and extended to the mid period of QianLong (1736 - 1796). This kind of porcelain was specially for exportation to the Western countries. The name Tobacco Porcelain was given by the western scholars. The patterns on the porcelain was mostly big flowers with large leaves such as cinnamon, ball flower, and peony etc., which look similar to Tobacco plant. Actually they are not related to Tobacco plant.
This Tobacco Leaf Porcelain jar has beautiful famille rose glazed flower patterns around the whole body. And the golden depiction added color to the flower patterns. This jar is 31 cm tall (12.2 inch) and it is in excellent condition. There is English inscription as Tobacco Leaf SPI Accents Collection at the base of the jar indicating its authenticity.
This precious antique porcelain jar was left to me by my grand parents. I am selling it at a low price because I need cash right now. It is a good investment for you if you buy it because it will for sure increase its value along time.
