ITEM LOCATED IN SAN JOSE. This is an original 18th century copper plate engraving depicting Geoffrey Chaucer by Jacobus Houbraken (Dutch, 1698-1780) published by J. & P. Knapton in 1741. This is from a series of portraits by George Vertue and Jacob Houbraken that were included in Thomas Birch's "The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britian," published by John and Paul Knapton beginning in 1737. The frame is 14.5" wide and 21" high. Asking $150 (OBO).
