The CS1x released in 1996 is Yamaha's first Analog Emulation performance keyboard for electronic and dance musicians. It's been used by artists including David Bowie, Jamiroquai, Underworld, Bushflange, Skylab2000, and Somatic Responses.
It’s a digital synth that emulates analog style, sounds and controls with a superb set of synth bass, pads, voices, leads, drums, and arpeggiated sequences. All controls and parameters are real-time and MIDI controllable for hands-on real-time tweakability.
There are knobs for envelope attack, release, filter cutoff, resonance + 2 assignable knobs for a total of 6 knobs.
Two scene memories will remember the current state of the envelope and filters as set by the control knobs so they can instantly be recalled and you can even use the Mod-wheel to morph from one scene into the other, very cool! Scene Memory data is also stored with your synth patches.
Built-in digital effects are great and the arpeggiator features 30 patterns suited for techno, house, bass lines, and other basics.
The CS1x comes with plenty of memory (128 preset, 128 user) and MIDI control makes it perfect for live and studio use.
