I just bought these used off Reverb. They left the seller working (I believe him) but arrived nonfunctional.
Yes I looked at the wires at the cartridge and at the XLR plug end, all wires are connected. (UPDATE: Now, because I kept opening it, one of the wires on one of the mikes is disconnected...) I therefore suspect transformer failure (although it's surprising that it happened on both at the same time). But the transformers are set in some kind of adhesive/epoxy compound, making them difficult or impossible to remove.
As you can see from the photo, one looks a little used, but the other looks really good. Both windscreens look good, that has got to be worth something.
So if it is really the transformers and you know to replace those, this is your lucky day.
